		<description>As a NYC independent developer I&#039;ve seen about a half-dozen employed colleagues get the ax in the past couple of months. Some of it was due to company cash flow problems (read: lack of credit).

So far it seems that programmers are still in high demand. I&#039;m hoping it stays that way.</description>
